Hopecore: the rebellious return to tranquility - is about facilitating a space to welcome everyone into the performance. It’s about creating a place to land, to rest your head. It’s about retracing your roots, reconnecting with nature. It’s about rejecting the attention economy and finding joy in the present. It’s about a peaceful resistance, resilience, bravery, strength in simplicity.

To communicate these ideas on stage, we rejected the normal rigidity of the commercialised band plots and were instead inspired by the informality of recording studios and lounging by the river bank. Real plants and warm lighting were used to cast shadows like the sun coming through trees on a warm summers afternoon. We softened the lighting using diffusion to create a welcoming yet cinematic look.
